Natural Stone Wall and Tile Floor for a Wood Burner
in Yellville, Arkansas

This wood burner is installed on a layer of 16” x 16” ceramic tile with a WonderBoard underlayment.
The back wall is 5/8” x 4’ x 8’ fire rated sheetrock with a 44” high WonderBoard
underlayment for the applied natural stone.

The WonderBoard underlayment has one-inch spacers behind it to create a one-inch air gap
between the stonewall and the 5/8” sheetrock to prevent heat transference.

The stones for the back wall were collected from the creek on the property and cut into 3 ½” wide strips.
The edges were kept nature.

The stone was then soaked overnight in bleach and water solution, then washed with fresh water.
After installation, the stone was sealed with two coats of Tilelab Stone Sealer and Enhancer prior to grouting.

When the grouting was complete, two more coats of Tilelab Stone Sealer and Enhancer was applied which brought all the natural beauty and highlights out of the stone.

Window Install

Customer's Flippin, Arkansas home had a beautiful living room with paneled walls,
exposed beams and tongue and groove ceiling, hardwood flooring
and a natural stone fireplace but what was lacking was natural light.
Solution: Installation of 3 Pella casement windows which not only filled this already
beautiful room with natural light but also increase the cross-ventilation on those
cool breezy evenings.

Before

My customer and his wife lived in a 2 bedroom one bath home with their 2 year old daughter
with one on the way. The problem they were having was with the bedrooms so close
to the living area it posed a problem with noise transference when their daughter
was put down for a nap or the evening.

Our solution was to install a single light pocket door that would act as a sound buffer
a long with allowing light to enter the hallway so as not to create
a cave like atmosphere when it was close.

We stained the door, jamb and trim so it would match the existing trim
and add a look as if it was there since the house was built 57 years ago.

Complete high-end kitchen renovation

Photos before and during remodel

Before 1 -2

The existing kitchen was a full-framed stereotypical 60’s style kitchen which lacked
aesthetic valve along with functionality. After several meetings between myself,
the customer and Jeff Jones, my master cabinet builder we were on our way
to creating a show room kitchen.

During 1 -2

As with any major remodel, it was wise to expand where possible
and to upgrade the plumbing and the electric along with installing new flooring.

Completed Kitchen

Cabinet’s designed and built by Jeff Jones ASAP of Hollywood, Florida 954-243-8266

As you can see the room takes on a completely different look …
with its open floor plan, its bold 42” upper cabinets
and its deep rich color this kitchen is now the focal point of the home.
Gaining both aesthetic valve and cool functionality this room is now
a place for gathering with friends and creating meals.

Originally the refrigerator was in the garage which was an inconvenience all by itself.
By moving the kitchen/garage wall out 24” we were able to create a place
not only for the refrigerator but also for a breakfront.
By tying the refrigerator alcove into the breakfront cabinets we created
a position where the refrigerator is not noticeable from the living area
which gave the kitchen cabinets more of a clean smooth flow.

This was a unique situation where as the shower, double vanity,

Our goal was to make the area fit in to the existing décor
plus make it functional and beautiful to the eye.
As you will see, we meet our goal.
